NORTH EASTERN LEAGUE 1907-1915

 

A number of Football League clubs fielded their second teams in the North Eastern League during these years.  All of these have been referred to as ‘Reserves’ in the Tables below, though they were also called ‘A’ teams at the time.

Bradford City Reserves, Leeds City Reserves and Penrith left the competition.  Eight new clubs were admitted - Darlington, Hartlepools United, Huddersfield Town, North Shields Athletic, Seaham White Star, South Shields Adelaide, Spennymoor United, and Wallsend Park Villa.

Jarrow Croft joined the North Eastern League.  Carlisle United’s and Workington’s first teams replaced their reserve sides.  South Shields dropped the ‘Adelaide’ part of their name and Sunderland Royal Rovers dropped the ‘Royal’ part of theirs.
