Prescot Cables were promoted to Division 1.  To raise membership of the top section to 20 clubs, Bacup Borough and St. Helens Town were placed in Division 1.  Football League clubs Burnley, Blackburn Rovers and Preston North End withdrew their teams from the Lancashire Combination and Barnoldswick & District also left.  Burscough Reserves, Prescot Cables Reserves, Rolls Royce, St. Anne’s Athletic and Skelmersdale United joined Division 2, membership of which was now 18 clubs.
